More about The Empowerment Factory’s Nature Drawing Program:

TEF’s drawing programs focus on Rhode Island’s species of greatest conservation need (SGCN), and they were created in partnership with the RIDEM Department of Fish and Wildlife and with RISD student participation. Promoted through RIDE’s All Course Learning Network, the bi-lingual STEAM program meets Common Core and NGSS standards, while raising awareness of human impacts on the local environment. TEF is known for blending in mindfulness, self-confidence, and self-esteem, while teaching fun and easy art techniques. Designed to feel like a clubhouse, TEF’s virtual classroom has helped hundreds of students across the state to maintain and improve their social communication and empathy skills (through and beyond the pandemic years) by offering a relaxed and open forum for discussing the environmental challenges creatures face and for sharing their stories through interpretive artwork.
