Green Infrastructure and Project-Based Learning Workshop

Explore building a green future in a 3-day, grant-supported workshop! Learn the basics of Project Based Learning (PBL) strategies and go on exciting field trips to green building projects in the Richmond region. Build your own green model building that demonstrates key science content areas as you learn. Empower students to make a change in their world!

Participants will receive lunch, lesson plans, and a ChompSaw cardboard cutting workstation valued at $250 to help create student engineering projects!

Our schedule changes daily, but we will start each day at 9:00 AM ET at the James A. Buzzard River Education Center located at 2825 Dock Street, Richmond, VA 23223

Event Dates

  • Elementary School Program: June 10–12, 2026; 9:00 AM–4:00 PM ET
  • Middle School Program: June 24–26, 2026; 9:00 AM–4:00 PM ET
  • High School Program: July 15–17, 2026; 9:00 AM–4:00 PM ET

Thanks to grant funding, the cost of this program is reduced to $30 per participant. Teachers will receive classroom materials valued at $250 as part of their registration.
