Do you work with school-aged children? Are you concerned about climate change, but not sure you know enough to teach it with confidence? This course will give you tools and strategies to teach about climate change in a hopeful and developmentally appropriate way.

In this 3-part, online series, we will explore the basics of climate change science, climate justice, and practical approaches for teaching the topic to elementary-aged children. You will leave feeling more confident in your understanding of climate change, and better prepared to help your students feel both knowledgeable and hopeful. You will also leave with multiple resources for further exploration, including lesson plans and videos.

Participants will need a computer with a reliable internet connection, and access to a relatively quiet space in which to participate. Short readings and follow-up exercises will be sent ahead of each session. Upon completion of the course, participants will receive a Certificate of Completion for 6 hours (4.5 online, 1.5 on your own), which can be applied towards PDPs.

Scholarships are available. Reach out to education@massaudubon.org if you are in need of financial assistance.
