Sustainable Earth Educator Awards

The Sustainable Earth Educator Awards (SEEAs), created to celebrate the impact US educators and administrators are making in sustainable education, are now open for nominations. The program will award $20,000 in prize money, with individual award amounts up to $500. The deadline to submit your nomination is July 20, 2022.

Who is this award for?

Any and all educators who are striving to support sustainable futures for people and the planet are invited to apply.

If you are an educator who works in the United States and is integrating sustainability concepts into your school or classroom, you are eligible to submit a nomination to the SEEAs. Plans and projects related to all subject areas, including, but not limited to the following are encouraged to apply:

  • Science
  • Social Studies
  • Mathematics
  • English Language Arts (ELA)
  • Arts
  • Physical Education

In this inaugural award, winners will be selected from two categories:

  • Sustainable Lesson Plans – structured lesson plans used inside or outside the classroom
  • Sustainable Project Guides – case study of sustainability project applied in your educational setting
