Incorporating Emergent Curriculum Virtual Workshop

an overhead view of deer legs on the ground and children looking down at itLearning in the outdoors inevitably brings along unexpected surprises and discoveries! Encountering ice on a wetland or stumbling across animal bones can capture a child’s curiosity and spark a whole new line of classroom inquiry into weather, decomposition and more.

Educators can intentionally incorporate student’s shifting interests into lessons through the use of emergent curriculum. This common theme in many nature-based programs can also be incorporated in any learning setting: but what does this actually look like in practice?

Join Merry Lea educators Carol Good-Elliott and Marcos Stoltzfus in this virtual workshop as they share examples from their work at Merry Lea and help educators from all backgrounds learn how to incorporate emergent curriculum into their own classroom.

Participants can receive 1.5 hours of Professional Growth Points (Indiana) for attending and participating in this workshop.

Cost: $15 per person
