The Durham Ferry Outdoor Education Center is a regional center for STEM and environmental exploration, owned and operated by San Joaquin County Office of Education (SJCOE). At the DFOEC we offer a myriad of ways for students and teachers to learn more about the local environment.
As Interpretive Specialist Tracy Albrecht helps people make connections from geology to cultural history to biodiversity of the open spaces surrounding us. No doubt that spring and fall are her favorite time of year, when wildflowers and pollination are common themes she introduces to audiences.
I was born in Iran. I am graduated from master of Environmental Engineering, and now PhD student at Pennsylvania State University, department of Geography. I am interested in Environmental Education, Facilitating Human and Nature Relationship, Social Aspects of Natural Resources, and Climate Change
My work is at the crossroads of music, environmentalism, energy, sustainability, and education. I teach undergraduate-level courses that consider the overlap of these areas, and run educational programming focused on energy and sustainability issues.
I am graduating this May from the Univ. of Vermont in Environmental Studies. In the effort to mitigate climate change, I see my role as a group facilitator, one who holds events, particularly for adults, to bring communities together, and undergo group projects to be more sustainable together.
