As a leader in education, I always found ways to incorporate my passion for conservation education and the utilization of natural spaces. My experiences have given me the opportunity to create access for students, support and facilitate conservation education, and grow my professional network throughout Kentuckiana.

Starting as a teacher in a title-one public school (98% free and reduced student body), I was awarded scholarships that allowed my students to attend the Louisville Zoo for 5 consecutive days. Those students explored wetlands, observed a variety of animals, and connected with nature. Leveraging those relationships, I transitioned to assist the Zoo’s program department, aligning their curriculum to the changing national science standards (NGSS). After one year of curriculum development, I enthusiastically accepted a permanent management position.

I spend 6 years as a conservation educator developing a wide variety of programming, including completing the largest grant collaboration with  a title one, ESL majority, nationally recognized public school.

Currently, I work with a variety of institutions throughout Kentuckiana.  My goal is to provide Girl Scouts with exceptional leadership experiences. These experiences include geocaching at Otter Creek, Gardening workshops with the Waterfront Botanical Gardens, exploring landfills with Know Waste Louisville, weaving at the Little Loomhouse, and many more community led programs!

All my professional experiences are built around the fundamental idea nature is for everyone. I have seen firsthand the power it can have on youth and community. My students leave with a connectedness, the world becomes smaller and more intimate.
