I received my undergraduate degree from UNC Asheville in biology. I interned as the North Carolina Musuem of Natural Sciences before becoming a full-time employee of NC State Univeristy. I worked there for about 6 years and obtained my masters degree while in employment there. After greaduating I became employeed at the Howell Woods Environmental Learning Center, part of Johnston Community College. In my current role, I maintain the administrative duties of the organization and lead educational programming. I have been a non-formal educator for a while but hope to obtain a more comprehensive understanding of what that entails and how to do it well.
