Association Spotlight: Chinese Society for EE
Did you know that the Chinese Society for EE (CSEE) was instrumental in helping pass the Environmental Education Act of Taiwan of 2011? Or that CSEE helped introduce the Green Schools and Sustainable Campus projects into Taiwan’s school system? This relatively small but mighty association has achieved quite a bit since its inception in 1992. Today, CSEE is a leading force for EE in Taiwan, committed to establishing a network of EE researchers, teachers, students, practitioners, government agencies, schools, corporations, and NGOs, all to form a professional network around EE in Taiwan.
To date, CSEE has a membership of just over 600 individuals and 16 organizations. Key CSEE initiatives include the hosting of an annual EE conference, the publication of the Chinese EE Research Journal, and the publication of the Green Seed Teachers Magazine. CSEE is providing leadership on the integration of EE into Taiwan’s 2019 National Curriculum Framework and is committed to empowering young people to consider green careers when they graduate.
