Teaching Climate Justice Teacher Course

EcoRise

A 4-week online course that gives all K–12 educators the opportunity to explore the important topics of climate change and environmental justice. Participants explore the fundamentals of climate change, the history of the environmental and climate justice movements, the inequitable impact of climate change on marginalized communities, and ideas and solutions for how to address climate justice. Upon completion, 12 hours of continuing education credit will be offered.

Teaching Extreme Weather Teacher Course

This course provides grades 6–12 science teachers with an opportunity to explore the driving forces behind extreme weather events occurring where they live, the relationship to climate change, and methods to address NGSS standards. Upon completion, 12 hours of continuing education credit will be offered.

2024 Virtual Marine Naturalist Teachers' Program

The Whale Museum

The Whale Museum is offering a free virtual program for K–12 teachers starting August 6 that aims to enhance knowledge and classroom lessons. It covers the ecology, status, and conservation efforts for endangered Southern Resident killer whales, local marine species, and the Salish Sea.
