A recent study has found that current research on higher education for sustainable development (HESD) focuses mostly on environmental and economic aspects, leaving the critically important social aspects of sustainability relatively unexplored.—Debra Rowe

A study titled “Education for sustainable development: Analysing research trends in higher education for sustainable development goals through bibliometric analysis” was published in Discover Sustainability this past January 25. The study was authored by Mestawot Beyene Tafese and Erika Kopp at the Institute of Education at Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE) in Hungary. The authors hope readers will see the need to approach sustainability research within universities in a more holistic manner.
