In this activity, students will create an energy storage model so they can learn more about how renewable energy is stored and harnessed into electricity. As a result of building the model, students will be able to:
- Understand energy storage applications with renewable energy including residential, distribution, and utility scale projects.
- Investigate types of energy storage applications used in microgeneration renewable energy.
- Analyze the advantages and disadvantages of energy storage applications in reducing GHG emissions.
- Examine how energy storage is used in residential applications in Europe and determine if these solutions can be applicable in Canada.
