Join the Higher Education eePRO Group to explore the results of landscape analyses conducted in three regions of the U.S. and  the implications for environmental education moving forward. 

Guest speakers:

Ashley Hoffman has served as the Executive Director of the Kentucky Association for Environmental Education since 2010. She holds a B.S. degree in Wildlife Ecology and Conservation from the University of Florida and a Masters in Nonprofit Administration from North Park University School of Business and Nonprofit Administration. She currently serves as a member of the North American Association for Environmental Education (NAAEE) Affiliate Network Working Group, a member of the NAAEE Advisory Council, and as the Executive Director of the Southeastern Environmental Education Alliance (SEEA). The Affiliate Network represents the state, provincial and regional environmental education organizations of NAAEE. The SEEA is a collaboration of environmental education organizations in the eight southeast states (AL,  FL, GA, KY, MS, NC, SC, and TN). Ashley is a Certified Professional Environmental  Educator and a certified member of the NAAEE Guidelines Trainers Bureau.

A former Chicago public school teacher, elementary and middle school teacher in Manhattan, KS, and preservice science methods instructor at Kansas State University, Laura Downey currently serves as the Executive Director for a statewide environmental education organization, KACEE. She holds a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education, a Master’s in Education Administration and Supervision and a Doctorate from Kansas State in Curriculum and Instruction for Math, Science and Technology. In addition to having the honor and privilege of working with an amazing board and staff at KACEE for 26 years, Laura currently proudly serves on the Board of Directors for the NAAEE and on the NAAEE Affiliate Leadership Team.

She is a proud mom to her son, Michael, a commercial real estate appraiser who loves the  outdoors as much as his mom. Laura lives in Manhattan with her four-legged child, Snack.
