KAEE Hosts Outdoor Learning Symposium

The Outdoor Learning Symposium (OLS) is a one-day event designed to inspire and activate K-12 educators and administrators to integrate outdoor learning and environmental education into their existing curriculum and school day routines. There are strands for both administrators and teachers. Administrators will dive into assessment, funding, research, and the principal's perspective on outdoor learning. Teachers will focus on the practical application of these concepts as well as resources and the steps to making outdoor learning work within your curriculum.

The OLS aims to increase administrator support and buy-in for outdoor and environmental education. To encourage this, K–12 administrators and teachers are invited to attend, learn, and earn TOGETHER at the OLS. Administrator and teacher teams who attend and participate together are eligible to apply for a mini-grant up to $250 or a Project WET workshop for up to 10 teachers at their school or district. See OLS event details for more information.

Participants who attend will receive a certificate of completion for professional development credit. EILA credits will be available for administrators.
