Energy concepts are included in K–12 education standards, but how do you teach them? Join KEEP—Wisconsin's K–12 Energy Education Program—in this on-demand training to review basic energy concepts and feel confident bringing energy to life in your classroom!

This self-paced online training introduces participants to classroom lessons and activities designed to enhance energy education. Participants will gain foundational knowledge of energy by exploring key concepts such as:

  • energy definitions
  • the natural laws governing energy
  • energy use in our homes and communities
  • energy flows in living and non-living systems 
  • the connection between energy and current environmental issues, including climate change

The training includes interactive activities, exploring pertinent KEEP resources, and completing practical home-based assignments such as reviewing utility bills, conducting energy audits, and calculating the wattage of household appliances. Participants will experience both theoretical and hands-on learning opportunities that can be used in the K–12 classroom.
