Act on Climate: Steps to Individual, Community, and Political Action

Act on Climate is a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) available for free (without certification) through Coursera (https://www.coursera.org/learn/act-on-climate/). Act on Climate focuses on helping learners address and respond to climate change through individual, community and political action by drawing on social science change theories. Academic experts and professional leaders explain how to translate learning into action in the areas of food, energy, transportation and the built environment (cities).  As of July 2018, the MOOC has received 98% "Likes" (mean across all course content) from over 1,800 learners and a rating of 4.9 out of 5 stars. Act on Climate is unique not only based on its content but also its co-design process which, unlike other MOOCs, involved a team consisting of Dr. Zint, undergraduate and graduate students as well as digital education specialists at the University of Michigan.
