How should the Crosscutting Concepts of the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) be used in the classroom? Are they just a way to categorize activities or can they actually be used to support and deepen student learning?

Join us to explore these questions and build your understanding of this NGSS dimension. Get familiar with each Crosscutting Concept and discover what they might look like at different grade levels. Experience sample activities and engage in discussion with colleagues about how to make the best use of this teaching tool. Leave with inspiration and ideas for implementing the Crosscutting Concepts in your classroom.

This two-day workshop experience is designed for all educators grades K-12.

This is an intermediate-level workshop, and will assume that you already have a basic familiarity with the three dimensions of the NGSS. For a beginner’s-level experience, check out our Introduction to the NGSS workshop.
