While my position at Hanging Rock is typically behind a desk, there are times that I am needed to help.  I have led hikes for field trip groups, given table programs, read nature stories to children, provided an extra set of hands for large field trips, and more.  There are rainy days that children come in the Visitor Center and I lead them through the exhibit hall telling them about our native animals.  We have adults that come through, sometimes with nothing more than a leaf they found asking for tree identification.  I am quite comfortable with this as before the park I was an early childhood educator, but know that I need more knowledge about nature to better fit my current position.
