Hilary is a veteran teacher with a wide range of experience. She has worked in the classroom and in the field with students ranging from birth to adult. Hilary has also taught in several different disciplines outside of science including music, theater, technology, education, and family and consumer science. Hilary’s breadth of experience helps her bring a fresh perspective to teaching science and environmental education.
Hilary is currently teaching 8th Grade Science for Columbia Public Schools in Columbia Missouri. In her time at Columbia Public Schools, she has chaperoned several trips to the Tetons Science School in Jackson, Wyoming and the Great Smoky Mountains Institute at Tremont in Townsend, Tennessee. She also received the Columbia Audubon Society Teacher Summer Workshop in Ecology and Ornithology Scholarship to attend the National Audubon Society Camp in Hog Island Maine.
When Hilary is not teaching in the classroom, she is using her training as a Missouri Master Naturalist, Missouri Department of Conservation Staff Volunteer, Missouri State Park Volunteer, and a member of the Missouri River Relief Crew to help provide high quality place based environmental education to families and student groups in mid-Missouri.
