I have worked in a variety of jobs throughout my career in education. I began my role as an educator back in 1994 as I graduated from John Carroll University in Ohio with a degree in Education, majoring in Elementary Education, minoring in Spanish and attaining a Concentration in Reading. My first full time job began that fall working for the Erie City School District in Pennsylvania. I worked for several years (along with some maternity time) in a variety of roles including Elementary ESL classroom teacher, mental health paraprofessional, adult parenting teacher/data research specialist--all within the City of Erie School District. I also worked as a substitute teacher for the Millcreek Township School District while my own children were in elementary school.
Outside the classroom, I LOVE living on Lake Erie! My husband and I enjoy biking and hiking the beaches of Presque Isle State Park. We attend many events sponsored by the PA Department of Conservation & Natural Resources in our area. We volunteer for the Presque Isle Partnership and also the National Kidney Foundation. We also have two grown children (ages 25 & 22) so we travel to see them in their cities as much as possible. I also love painting, cooking and baking in my free time.
