July 28, 2017 - Appropriations Update for FY 2018 Environmental Education Funding
The Senate and House Appropriations committees are currently considering FY 2018 federal spending, including for environmental education through the EPA and NOAA. The House version so far has the field cut considerably, while the current Senate plan has good-enough numbers for the NOAA Environmental Literacy Program (ELP) and Bay-Watershed Education and Training programs (B-WET). The Senate figure for the EPA Office of Environmental Education has not yet been released.
The next week to ten days is the very best opportunity to weigh-in on behalf of the field. We will send out and post more information very shortly on whom to contact on the House and Senate Appropriations committees, and the messages they need to hear.
