NAAEE President’s Update
What a Conference! Thanks to our EEAO hosts and to everyone who participated and made this year’s Conference so successful. For those of you who weren’t able to join us in Portland, Oregon, we had a great time in a wonderfully “green” city with blue skies, bright orange fall foliage, and lots of delicious Oregon fruit. Highlights ranged from concurrent sessions where numerous ideas were shared, to exhibits where we got to see all sorts of products and programs that are currently available, and symposia that enabled us to hear and discuss different perspectives about the future. Check out the 2009 Conference Photo Gallery >>. Also, take a look at our awardees and be inspired by their achievements on the awards page >>. For your reference, the conference program is still available online >>Now's the time to start thinking about the session(s) you will propose for our 2010 Conference in Buffalo-Niagara, New York. Several Commissions are already deep in planning exciting all-day workshops, and it’s bound to be another enjoyable, thought-provoking time for getting re-invigorated and meeting colleagues from throughout North America and the globe. 2010 Call for Presentations >>Thanks to all of you who participated in this fall’s election. We were fortunate to have a slate of highly motivated leaders with an array of skills and perspectives willing to stand for election. And a near record-breaking number of members voted. The close vote-count has been certified (according to the bylaws), and I am pleased to announce that the following candidates have been elected: Jose (“Pepe”) Marcos-Iga, President-ElectEdward (“Eddie”) Gonzalez, SecretaryBrenda Metcalf and Jeanne Troy, At-Large Board MembersThis year, for the first time, we are publishing our 2009 Annual Report electronically, as part of our ongoing efforts to save resources.
