Looking to strengthen your skills in emerging research methods in climate and environmental health, data science, omics and/or professional development? The Skills for Health and Research Professionals (SHARP) Program offers short, intensive, hands-on training designed to help professionals build practical, cutting-edge skills they can immediately apply to their work and research. 

Learn directly from experts in their fields based at institutions across the U.S. and internationally. SHARP trainings are open to professionals from any institution and at all career levels, and we particularly encourage trainees and early-career professionals to attend. Depending on the course, trainings are offered in-person, livestream virtually, or in hybrid formats. 

Three SHARP Training Topics to Explore 

Three SHARP training topics may be of particular interest to NAAEE members:

• Climate Change and Health Boot Camp: three-day intensive course designed to equip clinicians, scientists, and professionals in research, healthcare and public health with the knowledge and skills needed to effectively address climate change in their work.
• Community-Engaged Environmental Data Science Training: two-day intensive course featuring lectures on key concepts in solution-oriented, community environmental health research. Lectures will cover areas ranging from exposure assessment techniques to epidemiologic methods, community engagement practices, health policy applications, data science, and statistical analytic approaches for doing environmental health science that is in partnership with and relevant for improving community health. 
• Life Cycle Assessment Boot Camp - LCA for the Health Sector: four-day intensive, hands-on course where an individual and/or team will learn the concepts of life cycle assessment (LCA) and analytic methods required to complete their own LCA with their team.
