The 2019 CSTA conference is in San Jose from October 18 – 20. We are reaching out to encourage you to submit a proposal for a 90-minute workshop that features environmental literacy. Sessions are needed that provide teachers, schools, and districts with resources, strategies, instructional materials, and programs that promote environmental literacy and California's Environmental Principles and Concepts, and specifically address implementation of the Next Generation Science Standards.

The Endangered Species Coalition (ESC) is pleased to announce our 2019 Saving Endangered Species Youth Art Contest, which is open to K-12 grade students, including those who are homeschooled or belong to a youth/art program. The Khaled bin Sultan Living Oceans Foundation is proud to announce the 7th annual Science Without Borders® Challenge. This Challenge is an international art competition that engages students in promoting the need to preserve, protect, and restore the world's oceans and aquatic resources. The Challenge is open to primary and secondary school students 11-19 years old, with prizes of up to $500 awarded to the winning entries in the middle and high school categories. The theme for 2019 is "Connected Ocean: No Barriers, No Boundaries, No Borders." The deadline to participate in this year's competition is Monday, April 22, 2019. December 2-14, 2018, the UN COP24 (Conference of the Parties) international climate negotiations will be held in Katowice, Poland. "The Freelance Condition & Lifelong Learning in Communities" survey is for freelance informal educators. This investigation focuses specifically on the contributions of freelance educators who address plants, nature, and related topics in their work.

This international competition challenges middle and high school students to lead a creative campaign in their school or community that educates others and inspires action to reduce or prevent plastic pollution and marine debris. Social and Emotional Learning and Residential Environmental Education: Leaders Needed For Partnership – Apply Today!

With increased national awareness of the importance of Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) in schools and communities, NatureBridge seeks to convene an influential group of leaders from residential environmental education programs to collaboratively work through the question of how to most effectively incorporate SEL frameworks, research, and preferred practices into residential Environmental Education programming.

Funding from the S. D. Bechtel, Jr. Foundation will support this year-long effort (Fall 2018 - Fall 2019), including travel and stipends.

Global Action Summit has launched a challenge that could make a big difference. What’s needed now is for people all over the country & world to get additional cities, businesses (with fleets of vehicles), and others to join and bring this to scale! I see this initiative as a great challenge for students who are looking for a way to have an impact on reduction of greenhouse gases.
