Creating and Providing programming that interconnects the history and tradtitons of the Mashantucket Pequot people to guests and students today. Our program ranges from understanding of historic wars and genocides, to traditional ecological knowlege and how those traditional understandings can still be used today. The concept of Indigeneity requires a connection between the people, the plants, the animals, and the land. this interconnection between the people and this place is what gives each Indigenous group their own unique culture. the education work that happens in the museum varries from the western tradition of education, instead using games, stories, arts, and other hands on expiriences to communicate concepts.
