I received my Bachelor's of Science in Biology from Penn State University in 2019 and I am currently working on my Master's Degree in Environmental Education from Slippery Rock University, finishing in December of 2023. Before I started the master's program, I temporarily moved to California to monitor California Spotted Owls in the Sierra National Forest during the summer of 2020. In 2021, I started working with the state of Pennsylvania in their Department of Agriculture as a Spotted Lanternfly field technician. It was through that job is where I realized I wanted to make a difference to our environment by educating people about the world around us. In 2022, I completed an environmental education internship at Shaver's Creek Environmental Center as well as at Black Moshannon State Park. These experiences have led me to start a seasonal full-time position as the assistant naturalist and Environmental Interpretive Technician at Black Moshannon State Park. In August of 2023, I was promoted within PA DCNR to Point State Park where I work as the Environmental Education Specialist. My specality within environmental education is bird identification, but also excel at tree ID, recreational activities, and working with school groups. Working at Point State Park has also re-ignited my childhood interest in colonial history, expanding around the French and Indiand War into broader Pittsburgh history of the 19th and 20th centuries. In my free time, I love to disc golf, which is also something I wish to promote as an environmental educator, hike, bird watch, and if the weather is too cold or rainy, I can be found inside playing board games.
