A long time outdoor educator, I accidentally got into this field fresh out of highschool in Austin, Texas. I worked outdoor ed while I was getting my bachelors in Anthropology from UCLA thinking it was just a college job. After graduating, I realized that outdoor education is my life's work and most fufilling career path for me. It has now been 16 years of chiseling my knowledge and becoming a better mentor for youth. In addition to my experience as a longtime nature school teacher, I have also studied herbal folk medicine and have a deep appreciation for indigenous culture and it's relevance for teaching nature connectedness in a modern world that has largely abandoned it's connection to place.
