I am Cíntia Parreira. I am a techer in Brazil. I teach English as a foreign language and I am interested in teaching English using the Environmental issues as source of language. At present, I am a Master student and I am studing how MWEEs can help me teach English while raising students awareness about climate change and its consequences. I am a mother of two beautiful daughters and I am really into nature and teaching. So I believe MWEEs will help me structure better classes for my students.

Since 2023 I have been using environmental issues to teach English and I have noticed that my students got more interested in learning the language. We have had lessons on the importance of water to our lives and health and also the consequences of water pollution. My school is in a rural area of an industrial city, so students are used to living with all kinds of pollution. So when I started bringing this issue to the classroom I noticed they were really worried about this problem; however, they had never had the opportunity of thinking of it in the classroom context. So, I want to go deeper with this issues with my students and I want to show them how to tackle these problems and to organize community actions to try to solve these problems.
