Brittany’s professional career revolves around her lifelong passion for environmental conservation. She earned her BS in Conservation Biology and MS in Environmental Science and Policy from George Mason University. Brittany’s professional experience in food waste management includes conducting a composting feasibility study for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s National Conservation Training Center (NCTC).  NCTC is a residential training facility located on a 533-acre property in Shepherdstown, WV capable of providing full-service dining and break service for more than 300 staff and 200+ overnight guests. Conducting a feasibility analysis for a composting program on a campus of this size involved collecting data from all stakeholders, including Federal staff and contractors on-site, and local and state officials, and required in depth knowledge of local and state policies related to food waste management.  She effectively synthesized all the data collected and provided an in-depth analysis of the recommendations for the implementation of programs to reduce food waste campus wide.
