An NWF YouTube Live Event, April 30 @ 3:30pm ESJourney Into Antarctica With Brooklyn Middle School STEM Teacher Sarah Slack

Step into the field, no equipment required, on Thursday April 30th from 3:30pm - 4:30pm EST - for an amazing journey to Antarctica with Brooklyn middle school STEM teacher Sarah Slack who just returned from an expedition to study "The Most Dangerous Glacier on Earth." Sarah spent 65 days aboard the R/V Nathaniel B. Palmer icebreaker in the Amundsen Sea off the southwest coast of Antarctica as part of a research team studying the Thwaites Glacier. With funding from PolarTREC, she traveled with a group of 26 scientists collecting data for the International Thwaites Glacier Collaboration, launched by the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) and the U.K. Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) to improve understanding of the past and potential future melting of Thwaites. Join this National Wildlife Federation YouTube live event where Sarah will share some of the team's research findings, along with her observations, stories, insights, and participate in a Q & A.A  Tune in here: http://bit.ly/2YqCmmn
