Roots Forest School is Idaho’s first forest preschool, located in Ponderosa State Park in McCall where ample space and varied ecotones set the stage for innovative, emergent curriculum, and place-based/inquiry-based learning for children ages 18 months to 5 years. This is an opportunity to teach preschool aged children in the outdoors implementing all aspects of our nature preschool program.
Roots Forest School is an outdoor preschool for children 18 months to 5 years old in McCall, Idaho. Our classroom is nestled in the natural setting of Ponderosa State Park among Ponderosa Pines, Western Larches, Firs, and Aspens. Through child-led adventures, students receive a seasonally based educational experience, become connected to our local environment and community, and deepen their curiosity and gratitude for the natural world.
This teaching position will require the applicant to work with the co-teacher in implementing all aspects of a nature preschool program. The applicant will work alongside the co-teacher in two different preschool classes consisting of 12 students each, ages 3-5 years old. The majority of the class time is spent outdoors in all seasons.
