Sunriver Nature Center & Observatory is looking for a dynamic outdoor educator to join us for an exciting summer (and beyond) to share the natural world with others. The education specialist will develop and deliver a wide variety of education and interpretive programs including summer camps, K-12 field trips, and family programs. This position is scheduled for 6 months from June – November, but has an opportunity to evolve into a year-round position for the right candidate.

The Animal Program Specialist provides support in the husbandry of a diverse collection of animals that includes raptors, reptiles, amphibians, and invertebrates. The animal program specialist is also responsible for engaging visitors through development and presentation of conservation-based educational programs featuring SNCO’s animal ambassadors.This is a seasonal, 6-month (May – October) position.

The Summer Naturalist provides interpretive and operational support at the Nature Center during our peak visitor season. The naturalist is primarily responsible for staffing the Nature Center by engaging visitors with a high level of customer service and providing a rich educational experience for all visitors. This position will also provide daily support for animal husbandry and support for educational programming (e.g. camps) as needed.
