The Summer Camp Assistants will help the environmental education staff to run all aspects of the 2022 season camps, as well as conduct any other tasks for The Nature Museum as needed. This will include preparing materials for camp activities, looking after camp participants, leading lessons and activities, and break down/ clean up after the events of the days and weeks. Other duties may include cleaning the museum and the grounds, and assisting with necessary maintenance for the museum.

Perform as an environmental educator and interpreter at the Bellows Falls Fish Ladder and Visitor Center and at local libraries. Assist in teaching, developing, updating, and/or evaluating environmental education programs. Assist in updating, managing, creating, and/or evaluating exhibits and interpretive signage in coordination with the Senior Environmental Educator.

The Museum Attendant will be key in providing an excellent visitor experience and assisting with the day to day operations of the museum. They will interact with visitors in many ways including welcoming visitors, providing information about the museum’s collections and exhibits, programs, special events, and services. Other duties include recording attendance data, gift shop sales, basic cleaning, exhibit upkeep/maintenance, and assisting other staff as needed.

The ECO AmeriCorps member will assist in the planning and implementation of nature based programming for people of all ages, the overarching goal being to inspire community members to become their own environmental stewards. One will gain experience in creating environmental programs that not only teach about a diversity of eco-systems, they would also be mentored by museum staff in how to facilitate learning in developmentally appropriate ways that inspire action.
