New York City Parks is the steward of more than 30,000 acres of land — 14 percent of New York City including more than 5,000 individual properties ranging from Coney Island Beach and Central Park to community gardens and Greenstreets. The Greenbelt, located in the heart of Staten Island, is comprised of almost 3,000 acres of land dedicated to a range of recreational activities. Within its boundaries are mature stands of forest, wetlands, lakes, ponds, and streams where one can explore nature.
NYC Parks is an award-winning city agency that builds and cares for public spaces for New Yorkers to connect, play and enjoy. The Urban Parks Rangers’ (UPR) mission is to link New Yorkers to the natural world through environmental education, outdoor recreation, wildlife management and active conservation. We are an Equal Opportunity Employer. www.nyc.gov/parks
