Outdoor Education Specialists are the face of the Glacier Institute. You will be instructing field courses to a wide variety of audiences, ranging from ages 7-77. Outdoor Education Specialists will also be leading educational hikes into the backcountry of Glacier National Park, as well as the surrounding Flathead National Forest. The Glacier Institute specializes in place-based, hands-on learning of the natural sciences and cultural history, and we strive to empower students of all ages.

Outdoor Education Interns play an essential role in the operation of The Glacier Institute’s Big Creek Outdoor Education Center. Interns gain experience working with school groups and youth camps to empower students of all ages through place and science- based outdoor education. Big Creek Outdoor Education Interns will have the option to design and carry out a long-term project that will contribute to the Glacier Institute’s mission and vision, while also utilizing their own skills and goals.
