The Montana State Parks AmeriCorps 1215 Hour Natural Steward position will serve at state parks throughout Montana. The member will educate the public about park resources, implement land improvement projects, conduct community outreach and recruit volunteers.
As Montana’s population of residents and visitors increases, our need for education programs is growing dramatically. Demands include grizzly bear awareness and safety training, keeping wildlife wild programs and promoting stewardship. The AmeriCorps member, working as Wildlife Stewardship Education Instructor, will perform capacity-building activities in the service of conservation education. They will report to the Wildlife Stewardship Outreach Specialist.
This AmeriCorps position runs from July 26- November 24, 2021. It is based in one of the most historically rich sites for Crow culture and community in all of Montana. Chief Plenty Coups State Park is a historical and cultural park with unique features that include an interpretive visitor center with a collections room and artifacts, Chief Plenty Coups’ original log cabin home, sacred medicine spring, and the Chief Plenty Coups family gravesite.
Serve in Big Sky Country with Communities in Action Corps (CIA Corps)! CIA Corps is seeking one AmeriCorps member to serve a 23-week term from June 14–November 19, 2021 at beautiful Flathead Lake State Park in Bigfork, Montana.
Serve under the “Big Sky,” Protect Montana’s Treasures, Tell Its Stories! Montana State Park AmeriCorps Recreational and Natural Park Stewards love the outdoors and are passionate about improving natural ecosystems, promoting recreational opportunities and experiencing Big Sky country’s exceptional scenic beauty, abundant wildlife and amazing geologic formations.
The member will serve in Missoula, MT with Home ReSource. The term of service is from October 1, 2019 - August 28, 2020. The anticipated service schedule is 1700 hours over the course of service term. Roughly 40 hours per week. Occasional evening/weekend hours may be necessary.
Montana State Parks AmeriCorps is currently recruiting for 5 AmeriCorps National Service Members to serve in the 2017 season in our exciting park system. Service terms begin in April and May.
Our members will focus on 4 program areas: Land Improvement, Education and Interpretation Programs, Volunteer Engagement, and Community Outreach.
