This position connects people to our mission by building relationships with volunteers, connecting them with service opportunities and working to increase their level of engagement with the organization and our mission where appropriate. This position is part time (24 hours per week), nonexempt, and reports to the Engagement Director but works across departments, supporting fundraising events, stewardship projects, and education and outreach efforts.
The Water Programs Manager educates and engages the public on conservation work in the watershed that improves the quality of the Wissahickon Creek and its tributaries. This position develops and manages green stormwater infrastructure projects in cooperation with local municipalities and large private and residential landowners. Wissahickon Trails is a key partner in two regional partnership initiatives and this position serves as a liaison to these initiatives.
The Community Outreach Manager works to raise our visibility in the community and broaden our base of support. S/he coordinates outreach activities connecting the watershed with new audiences, plans and implements special events, and engages local businesses as partners and sponsors. S/he stewards our volunteer program: builds relationships with volunteers; connects them with meaningful service opportunities, and works to increase their level of engagement with the organization where appropriate
The Wissahickon Valley Watershed Association seeks a conservation professional experienced in environmental interpretation/education as well as conservation management. The Conservation Programs Manager will oversee and support key conservation programs of The Watershed that bring together our land and water resources management work with community education and engagement.
