The work schedule is typically Monday – Friday or Tuesday – Saturday, depending on program needs.

The instructor will be responsible for leading groups through evening or overnight educational experiences at Zoo Knoxville that are consistent with the zoo’s mission of providing dynamic guest experiences while inspiring action for wildlife and wild places. This includes an interpretive tours, teaching using live animals and animal artifacts, and providing a safe, fun and engaging learning experiences.

The Zoo Camp Instructor will be responsible for planning and teaching week-long day camp programs for children ages 4-13. 2017 camps occur March 13-17 (Spring Break), June 5 – July 28 (Summer Camp) and October 9-13 (Fall Break). Programming will strive to achieve the Education Department’s vision to create conservation leaders by inspiring community action for wildlife and wild places. Instructors should be available to teach at least 6 weeks of camp.
