Clemson University’s Camp Bob Cooper is seeking instructors to join our amazing outdoor education and rentals team for our Fall Season-September 1st-December 10th 2022. We provide educational programs for elementary and middle schools around the state.
Oversees and coordinates the programs for summer camp, Field Studies, quarterly rentals, portable programs, and adventure-based programs at Camp Bob Cooper through Clemson University’s Youth Learning Institute. Hires, trains, supervises, and evaluates staff for each of these programs and manages the daily operations.
Teaching Kids about the Environment (K.A.T.E.) : KATE features academically based, hands-on exploration of forestry, soils, water ecology and wildlife resources. Activities include GPS navigation, team building, canoeing, high adventure, portable planetarium, birding, outdoor living skills and more! All curriculum align with South Carolina state standards.
Exploration Hannon: Exploration Hannon is a mountain ecology program for grades 3-8 and moves math and science out of the classroom and into the outdoors. Areas of study include reading the forest, uphill investigation, aquatic ecology, stream mapping, zip line canopy tour and more. All curriculum align with South Carolina state standards.
Clemson University's Youth Learning Institute is looking for Outdoor Education Instructors/Naturalists for our Sewee Coastal Retreat Center in Awendaw, SC for an educational hands-on Marine Science program for 2nd-8th graders. The position runs from mid-September until early December. Room, board and sickness/accidental insurance are included.
