Stewards is seeking an Executive Director who will lead the Stewards team, share a passion for environmental education, and create a vision of the future that preserves our natural and cultural resources and ensures equitable access for all park users. Stewards is a non-profit organization launched in 1985 whose mission is to promote preservation through environmental education and stewardship in support of California State Parks' Russian River Sector.

Stewards of the Coast and Redwoods works in partnership with California State Parks in the Russian River area of northern CA. This position provides support for over 250 volunteers who provide education and stewardship programs in three park units. A native Spanish speaker is preferred as well as someone with knowledge of the natural and cultural resources in the area. Application deadline is March 22, 2021.

Seasonal Naturalists work with EE programs at Armstrong Redwoods SNR, Austin Creek SRA and Sonoma Coast State Park in the Russian River area of Sonoma County, CA. The job is year-round and Naturalists work on an on-call basis. The busiest times of the year are Spring, Summer and Fall.

The Volunteer Coordinator is a warm, outgoing presence who ensures that all volunteers feel welcomed and at home in the Stewards’ community. She/he is responsible for the recruitment, training, scheduling, and retention of volunteers in State Parks’ Volunteers in Parks programs and Stewards’ education and stewardship programs. The Volunteer Coordinator helps volunteers feel valued and appreciated and able to contribute in ways that meet their needs and the needs of Stewards.
