Like many Audubon chapters, Santa Clara Valley Audubon Society (SCVAS) maintains staff, programs, and volunteers separate from the National Audubon Society, although many programs and operations are conducted in cooperation with National Audubon and the California-based organization, Audubon California. Major program areas include birding field trips, environmental education, conservation and advocacy projects, and maintenance of a small office and nature shop. The Office Manager is a full-time, salaried, exempt position.
The Santa Clara Valley Audubon Society (SCVAS) Outreach Coordinator manages, directs and develops the Outreach and Volunteer Programs for the Chapter. This position also includes scheduling, maintaining and developing specific outdoor education materials and working in collaboration with the Education Program Specialist. In some cases, the Outreach Coordinator will be the program provider for these programs when needed. The Outreach Coordinator also supports general chapter events, and local conservation programs.
