Job

The Urban Ranger Program Assistant will assist the Urban Rangers in gaining valuable experience in teaching science-based curriculum, conduct fishing clinics, assist with prep of educational programs, be exposed to many areas of partnering organizations and will participate fully in ELK’s summer programming. This is a 30-39 hour a week position at $15.00/hr, Tuesday-Saturday work week, June 2nd through mid-August.

Urban Rangers employment program is a partnership between Environmental Learning for Kids, the National Park Service, Colorado Parks and Wildlife, and Denver Parks and Recreation. The Urban Ranger Program Assistant will assist the Urban Rangers in gaining valuable experience in teaching science-based curriculum, conduct fishing clinics, assist with prep of educational programs, be exposed to many areas of partnering organizations and will participate fully in ELK’s summer programming.

The DOI/VISTA will develop opportunities for under-served populations, particularly at-risk youth, to engage in experiential outdoor learning through ELK (Environmental Learning for Kids) programming on public lands. The DOI/VISTA will develop resources, outreach strategies, and career exploration opportunities with the Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge that will build the capacity of ELK to reach under-served communities and build pathways out of poverty. Starts mid-Feb 2016.
