This is a Resilience Corps NC (CTNC AmeriCorps) position with Balsam Mountain Trust in Sylva, North Carolina. The EOC will be responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating environmental education programs. The member will be trained to handle the animals used on these educational programs. The EOC will also be responsible for building/evolving partnerships with local community and nature based organizations through programming, events, and other projects.

Permanent, 30-hour/week position which performs both administrative/office duties and naturalist duties including animal care, working with volunteers and our clients. Position is based at our nature center on 4,400 acres of private land.

The EOC will develop and implement school and public programs on NC wildlife and pollinators. The EOC will work to expand our Adopt-a-School program, which pairs local business sponsors with local schools, so that we can deliver hands-on, live animal programs to those schools at no cost.
