The USDA- Forest Service - Pacfish Infish Biological Opinion (PIBO) Monitoring Program is seeking to fill multiple positions to conduct aquatic habitat monitoring on streams in the Columbia and Missouri river basins. These monitoring efforts are used to help guide management on federal lands to conserve bull trout and anadromous fishes. In this field position, employees monitor watershed conditions on USFS, BLM, and NPS lands. Seeking stream technicians and vegetation technicians.

The Plenary Session named Flash Talks: Educating for a Just and Sustainable Future, presented five experts on how the environmental education community can work together to educate for a more just and sustainable future. Topics included: how to find parallel fields to grow environmental education funding; how to advance environmental literacy, and stewardship; unleashing the of untapped potential of minority communities; ways organizations can leverage their resources for a positive impact in the world; and how products tackle the issue of climate change and new technology helps with STEM education and helps lead to a cleaner, better world.


The North American Association for Environmental Education (NAAEE) is seeking to support 6 young professionals from racially or ethnically diverse backgrounds to attend NAAEE’s 47th Annual Conference in Spokane, Washington, October 10th – 13th, 2018. NAAEE and the U.S. Forest Service share a goal of increasing diversity within the field of environmental education (EE). Through a participating agreement with the U.S. Forest Service, NAAEE will support scholarships for six young professionals who are seeking to initiate or progress their careers within the field through participation in professional development workshops, trainings, and networking opportunities with EE professionals from diverse cultures and communities.
