The Tennessee Aquarium Conservation Institute’s AmeriCorps VISTA will create education and outreach programs for underprivileged high school students, teachers, ecotourism guides, and conservation professionals in an effort to break the cycle of poverty and equip the current and future generation of conservation professionals to better protect the incredible freshwater biodiversity of the Southeastern United States.
We currently seek an outgoing, friendly Gallery Educator to present high-quality, engaging educational experiences centered on using science to make informed decisions and take greater personal responsibility, and to be part of a global citizenry that cares about Earth and all its resources. The focus of the position will be on programs in galleries related to exhibits and special topics, informal interpretation, assisting in animal husbandry for education animals, and Behind-the-Scenes tours.
The Director of Science Education will apply current research in the areas of education, interpretation, and science to design and implement dynamic programs to help create a continuous pathway of learning that will also draw new and underrepresented audiences to the natural sciences.
The Tennessee Aquarium is searching for a Watershed Educator to advance the freshwater conservation science mission of the Tennessee Aquarium Conservation Institute (TNACI) by teaching river enthusiasts, conservation partners, citizen scientists, and science teachers to be watershed advocates and stewards.
