Climate Change/CO2 Teacher Professional Development

The USC Joint Educational Project's STEM Programs is hosting a climate change professional development (PD) for elementary school teachers. This virtual PD workshop will be on Saturday October 17th, 2020 from 9am to 12pm. This PD will cover elementary lesson plans that you can incorporate in your digital and in-person classrooms. The lessons will cover how to introduce climate change to students, collecting data related to climate change for your classrooms, and will feature hands-on and inquiry-based activities for you to use that are interdisciplinary and feature math and literacy components.

Details: 

Title: Climate Change PD for Elementary
Key Topics: Climate change, carbon dioxide, data-usage in the classroom, NGSS-aligned activities, hands-on and inquiry based lessons. 
When: October 17th, 2020 from 9am -12 PM PST. (Please show up at 8:45am for onboarding). 
Who: Elementary focused School Teachers, informal educators and Teacher Educators
Where: JEP STEM Zoom Room - will send after you have registered
Grades: The lessons are geared towards upper elementary but can easily be adjusted for varying age groups. 
Incentive: 1 Continuing Education Unit (CEU) from USC Rossier School of Education by participating in workshop and testing it with your students
