Marine Mammal Scientist in Training Program

The California Ocean Alliance is offering a new marine mammal summer course for high school students! Taught by scientists who lead marine mammal research projects in Monterey Bay, California, the Marine Mammal Scientist in Training Program is an intensive and highly engaging one-week hands-on course offered throughout the summer. The goals of the course are to provide each student with a unique opportunity to be taught about marine mammal natural history, learn field methods through direct experience for conducting marine mammal research around Monterey Bay, and participate in a number of field-based outings to collect scientific data using emerging technology with Marine Mammals. This unique and engaging course provides students with the knowledge and skillsets required for continued education in STEM fields and marine conservation.
