Facilitating Conversations & Enhancing Learning

What role does talking have in enhancing learning? How can informal educators design and facilitate conversations that help learners transfer their learning from an abstract idea into a concrete concept?

Educators will explore how talking helps people transfer knowledge into long-term storage areas of the brain. They will then build off of proven strategies for facilitating conversations and how they can be adapted to their unique teaching environments. During this series, educators participate in activities to explore what learning research looks like in practice and use videos of themselves teaching to reflect upon and brainstorm ways to strengthen their interactions with learners.

This workshop series is part of the Reflecting on Practice program.
