We seek an enthusiastic, knowledgeable person to teach in and help administer a large, established nature program at Camp Pemigewassett in Wentworth, NH (http://www.camppemi.com). While we will consider all applicants, you must have a broad background in natural history, with a strong interest in entomology. Teaching experience in a school, in an environmental or outdoor education program, or at a camp, museum, or science center would be a plus. He or she must enjoy working with children aged 8-15. While we will consider all applicants, we hope to find a candidate who might be interested in establishing a longer term relationship with the camp. We have excellent facilities including reference collections of rocks and minerals, insects, and plants, field and laboratory equipment, a darkroom, microscopes, an 8 inch reflecting telescope, and a 1,000 volume library, all housed in a large nature center. We are a private, residential camp for boys 8-15 located on a small lake in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Our 700 acre campus has a range of habitats from floating acid bog to hardwood and conifer forests. We are close to many other mountain, meadow, lake, and river localities. The majority of our campers are with us for our full 7 week season. We have a 91 year tradition of science-based nature education and the program is headed by a geologist with 47 years of camp experience. Our associate program head (also a geologist) has over 22 years of nature center/museum/environmental education experience. Candidates for the entomology position must be at least 21 years of age and possess a current US or Canadian drivers license. Salaries are generous and include room and board. Successful candidates will be asked to attend our Nature Instruction Clinic 12-17 June 2016 along with general counselor training 18-25 June 2016.
